Printable Marvel Black Panther Mask

This excellent 3D papercraft Black Panther cowl is a free sample from DT Workshop. The life-size mask is constructed from two types of special card stock: textured black and metallic silver. While great as a display piece, in order to be worn as a functional mask, the eyes need to be either left as open holes or replaced with a transparent material. MCU Infinity Gauntlet Papercraft

I've been on the lookout for a well designed Infinity Gauntlet paper model that is also free. I think I may have finally found what I have been looking for! This 1:1 scale model of Thanos' glove was created by Paperttore at LED Papercraft. The model represents how the Gauntlet appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe rather than how it appears in the original comic books. The download (which may be found here) contains both PDF and Pepakura PDO templates. In case you have been living under a rock... :) The Infinity Gauntlet plays an important role in both the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame movies.

Fifth Element Stones Papercraft

Being a long time enthusiast of the 1997 movie, The Fifth Element, I began this papercraft 8 or 9 years ago as a work of fan art. In the movie there are four powerful stones that correspond to the four elements of the ancient world (fire, air, water and earth). The power of these stones can only be activated by the "fifth element" which happens to be a "genetically perfect" human female. My papercraft elemental stones are 1:3 scale and may be downloaded here. The download includes PDF templates for both Letter and A4 size paper. Glad to get this one completed after so long. This is my papercraft release for the month of January as promised here.

Life Size Harley Quinn Papercraft

Harley Quinn is one of several DC Comics bad guys to appear in the 2016 movie, Suicide Squad. This life size paper model of Harley in her Suicide Squad garb was originally created by Unfold Brazil to be 19.7" (50 cm) tall. Desiring something a little taller, DeviantART member Kirob3rus modified UB's papercraft template to produce a finished model that stands 5' 8" (1.73 M) tall! Kirob3rus' Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here. Harley Quinn's first appearance in the DC Comics Universe was not in a comic book but as the Joker's sidekick in a 1992 episode of Batman: The Animated Series.

Papercraft V Reptilian Laser Pistol

The 1983 television mini-series "V" tells the story of the invasion of Earth by aliens. The aliens appear to be very human looking, but are later revealed to be reptilians who wear disguises to hide their true features. This full scale paper model of a reptilian laser pistol from the series was created by Marcell von dem Berge. A printable PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. Fun trivia: actor Robert Englund (who went on to play Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street) played one of the reptilians in V.

Disney Tangled Papercraft Lantern

I was going to create a Tangled lantern myself, but someone in Korea beat me to it. Thank you! The design couldn't be simpler. It is just a single piece of cardstock glued to form a cylinder. And before anyone asks: it is not capable of flying. ^^ The lantern is lit by means of a battery powered tea light, not a candle, because everyone knows an open flame and papercraft don't mix. Right? The two JPG template for the lantern may be found here.  The movie Tangled was released by Disney in 2010.

Hobbit Papercraft: Erebor Key

Here is a life-size paper model of the Key of Erebor as it appears in the movie The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Erebor (also known as the Lonely Mountain) was once the home of a clan of Dwarves who were driven out when the dragon Smaug arrived to take up residence in the place. Hobbit Papercraft: Elvenking Sword

This life size paper model is of the Elvenking's sword as it appears in the Hobbit movies directed by Peter Jackson. The Elvenking's name is Thranduil. He is the father of Legolas, an elf played by Orlando Bloom in both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies. DIY Papercraft Mockingjay Pin

This papercraft mockingjay pin uses a construction technique I had never seen before. Layers of cardstock are glued flat on top of one another to create a sculptural effect. The end result, to my eye at least, is very close to the prop pins used in the Hunger Games movies. A free printable template for the pin may be downloaded from Steve's Paper. The pin in the photo was coated with super glue to strengthen the paper. According to Steve this final step makes the pin "surprisingly tough".

7th Anniversary!

Remember, remember the fifth of November... is the anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! Yes, seven years ago today I began blogging about the wonderful world of papercraft. Today's photo features four of my pop culture paper models from years gone by. Each one has something to do with an eye. Starting on the left and going clockwise there is the Millennium Eye from Yu-Gi-Oh (2011), the masonic medallion (with Eye of Providence) from National Treasure (2009), the Eye of Agamotto from the Marvel comic book Doctor Strange (2009), and lastly there is the seeing stone from Coraline (2009). Here's thanks to each and every person who has visited Tektonten Papercraft in the past seven years. I couldn't have made it this far without you!

Papercraft Hellraiser Lemarchand Puzzle Cube

In the Hellraiser movies, the Lament Configuration is a puzzle cube that when solved opens a gateway to a hell-like dimension. Philip Lemarchand is the fictional creator of the cube. There have been other papercraft Hellraiser cubes, but this the first I know of that has pieces that can be rearranged. The template for the cube was created by Destro2k and may be downloaded here. If you are in the mood to build something easier, there is a simple six sided version of the cube included in the download.

Printable Movie Prop Tarot Cards

MarkWynn shared with me these printable replica tarot cards based on cards appearing in the movie Now You See Me, a 2013 thriller about a group of four magicians who use their illusion skills to rob banks. Each of the cards has a front and a back which must be printed, cut out, then glued together. For a finishing touch, color the edge of the cards with a black marker. Tomb Raider Triangle of Light Papercraft

In the 2001 movie, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Lara must locate two halves of a powerful relic known as the Triangle of Light. Pictured are two 1:2 scale paper models of the Triangle. One model is of the Triangle when it is whole and the other model shows the Triangle after it is split to prevent misuse of its power. The PDF template for the Triangle of Light includes both the whole and the split versions and comes in both A4 and Letter sizes. This project has been on my to-do list for a long time and I am happy to finally get it completed.

Indiana Jones Papercraft: Webley Mk VI Revolver

Indiana Jones' weapon of choice in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a Webley Mk VI revolver.  Although the movie takes place in 1938, the Mk VI is an older weapon which, starting in 1915, was issued as the standard sidearm for British troops during World War I. My papercraft rendition of the revolver takes some "artistic liberties" in the name of making the paper model easier to build , but I worked hard to keep the 1:1 scale of the gun accurate. This is the one and only papercraft I have ever released without a test build first, so let me know if you find any problems. The template may be downloaded here. Estimated difficulty level: 4/5.

James Bond Papercraft: Moonraker 6 Space Shuttle

In the 1979 movie Moonraker, James Bond and Dr. Holly Goodhead pilot a shuttle (Moonraker 6) into space in order to stop the evil plans of antagonist Sir Hugo Drax. US space program enthusiast Alfonso X. Moreno has created a 1:144 scale paper model of the fictional space shuttle. The template for the shuttle is offered as a free download on his website. AvP Papercraft: Xenomorph Life Cycle

Noturno Sukhoi and Cuguel have teamed up to create a series of paper models that illustrate the life cycle stages of the xenomorphs seen in the Alien franchise of movies and video games. Pictured above are a sampling of the models available. Starting on the right and going counterclockwise, we have a xenomorph egg, a "face hugger", and a "chest burster". Although it is not stated on Noturno's website, these papercraft models appear to have been created from 3D models from one of the Aliens vs Predator (AvP) video games. Each of the above models is 1:1 scale and their templates may be downloaded here (Pepakura PDO format only). 

Thor Movie Papercraft: Mjolnir

In Marvel Comics' new Thor movie, the god of thunder's war hammer Mjolnir is given a more ornate look than the comic book version of the weapon. My friend George at the Behold the Geek! blog took it upon himself to create a full scale paper model of the movie version of the hammer. George based the construction of his hammer on my own 1:1 scale Mjolnir papercraft. The template for the movie Mjolnir is available here. Note: 11x17 size paper or cardstock is required to build the hammer full size.

Predator Bio Mask Papercraft

Here is a full scale Predator bio mask papercraft by jango.clone. I am not sure of the origin of the 3D model used in this papercraft, but it may be from one of the video games from the Alien vs. Predator franchise. According to the AVP Wiki, bio masks:

"...contain a variety of functions which the Predators may require during a hunt. As well as protecting the Predator's head, the mask has a sound amplifier, multiple vision modes, a zoom function, some diagnostic capabilities and a recording system. The bio mask may also have a red targeting laser, used by a Predator for accurate plasma caster shots."

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Paper Theater

Late last year I was approached by a theater in the Netherlands to produce a paper theater for their gift shop. But alas, the project never became a reality and I was left with an unfulfilled desire to design a paper theater. I finally got inspired enough to follow through on my desire a couple months ago after watching the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. The movie is directed by former Monty Python member Terry Gilliam and features the final on-screen performance of actor Heath Ledger. The plot of the movie involves a troupe of traveling actors whose portable stage looks much like a life size paper theater. At the end of the movie Doctor Parnassus, the leader of the troupe, is shown on the street selling toy theaters which resemble his own theater. This papercraft is my attempt at recreating the toy theater seen at the end of the movie. Information for the template is as follows:

The photo shown above doesn't do justice to the 3D effect of the theater which is similar to 3D decoupage. I hope you enjoy the theater. It was a lot of fun to design and build. Oh, I forgot to mention the model comes with a "curtain" and there are slots in the top so that it may be used as a functional toy theater and not just as a prop for a book shelf.

Predator Helm Papercraft

Some guys at the 405th Infantry Division costuming forum have put together a template for a full size papercraft model of the helmets that appear in the Predator movies. These helmets are worn by the extraterrestrial predators themselves and in the movies are only occasionally removed to reveal the grotesque faces that lie beneath. The Pepakura PDO file of the template was posted by 405th forum member Spartan857 while the original 3D model was created by member Droodles. Go here for a download of the template.
